  Invitation to Participate

We invite you to participate in a new and exciting web based study.

Are you interested in psychology or wonder why and how your mood may affect your personal characteristics and behaviour?

Would you like to learn how similar or different are your emotional experiences across people from different countries?

Would you like to help us understand how common changes in mood, activity and energy levels are in people with no mental health problems in comparison to people who suffer from emotional problems?

Would you like to help us develop better tools to identify and treat people with emotional problems?

Then you may be interested in participating in this international web-based study.

We are looking at how changes in mood, energy and activity levels affect the behaviour of people across the world. Instead of looking simply at negative emotional states, we are primarily interested in positive mood states and their impact in people's social life and work. If you decide to participate you will be asked to complete 5 brief web-questionnaires and provide some simple demographic information (age, gender, country etc.).

This will only take 15 minutes of your time. At the end of the study if you wish we can send you a report so you can see how your responses compare with other people across the world. Unfortunately, at this stage of the project we do not yet have the facilities in place to provide individual reports. However, your data will help us to produce accurate individual reports and we will get in touch with you once this is ready.

Although this is not a clinical study, you will be asked 3 questions that you may not be happy to answer (1 question about your sexual behaviour, 1 question about your drug use, and 1 question about ever having thoughts of harming yourself). You are not required to answer any of these questions. However, it would be helpful for us to have all the questions answered.

You should also remember that all the information is stored anonymously and our data analysis is for the whole group of people responding to this survey rather than each individual.

If you have any questions feel free to email us at edo@bipolarlab.com
